11/01/11 News Update

Arriva North East

The last Plaxton Prima to undergo refurbishment, 1208 V208 DJR has now entered service at Darlington while Durham depot is scheduled to close on the 30th of January with vehicles transferred to Belmont. DAF SB220 / Plaxton Prestige 4005 S891 ONL has been repainted into new livery.

Go North East

Scania / Wright Solar 4926 Y926 ERG has returned to service after refurbishment carrying a new sparkly blue livery for service 50 which as reported earlier has been confirmed to be receiving the brand of “Whey aye five-0”. 4926 is still currently operating service 57 and is not expected to transfer to Chester-le- Street until late January as the revised service does not start until 30th January. Dennis Dart SPDs 8171 S371 ONL and S372 ONL have transferred to Gateshead, Dennis Trident / Lolyne 3876 W186 SCU has transferred to Stanley which has been exchanged for 4905 W905 RBB which is now at Chester-le-Street. The new ticket machine system using the Key Smart card will be expanded this month with Sunderland and Peterlee operating these from 9th January, Gateshead and Washington on the 16th January, Chester-le-Street, Durham and Derwentside on 23rd January and Tyne Valley, Western Gateshead and North Tyneside on 30th January.

Classic

Optare Solo Y292 PDN has been painted into Hadrian’s Wall Country Bus after the previous Solo was written off in an accident.

Scarlet Band

Not previously reported, Mercedes Vario R148 UAL has been scrapped.
