  1. Hi, I have been hearing some roumors… I would just like to ask you if they are true!!!!! (if you know)

    1) GNE are bringing back the 1X and branding it ‘The Coaster Express’

    2) GNE are getting 20 new optare solo’s to use on services 51/52, 60/61 and 17 ( they want to get new buses on the 17 8276-8279 and 8284-8287 are horrible-the spd’s are a BIT better)

3 And GNE will be operating Optare Tempos On Diamond Services 43/44

    • To Thomas,

Yes, Tony is correct, thanks for the info.

  2. Thomas

    1) The 1X is apparently coming back in July but as yet, nothing is confirmed.
    2) It’s actually Optare VERSA and they are for the Orbit 51/52 and Sunderland City Service 42. The 17 isn’t getting any unless the rumor 40 extra turn up.
    3) And no, as yet the rumor is that the Citylink Citaros are being displaced to the Diamond once the Citaro Bendies arrive from London, displacing the Diamond Renowns to Gateshead for the Crusader 27 displacing Cadets from there into Northern livery.

  3. Thanks Kieron and Tony – The 1X was a really good services and I think it should come back. And I hope the do being optare versas on the 17 the Compasses and SPDS and the other crap like 4993 and 4911 and 3866/67
    and more!!!!

    • Yeah your right, and ive heard roumors it may be coming back. And for the 17, i agree better vehicles should be used. Just thinking about later this year the Cadets on Crusader service 27 should be free from the Diamond Renowns which should head onto the Crusader, this would be a perfect set of vehicles for the route.

  4. Yes, It would, the perfect size for them… and newer buses 🙂

  5. tony the cadets wiil go on the 88/88A
