Deliveries of brand new Wright SB200 / VDL Pulsar have continued with Blyth taking the most recent four which are 1495 NK61 CZJ, 1496 NK61 CZL, 1497 NK61 CZM and 1498 NK61 CZN. Further new Optare Solos at Jesmond are 2870 YJ61 JFN and 2871 YJ61 JFO which have been numbered separate to the previous Solos due to being longer, at M880 length. Scania OmniCity’s 4644 CX05 EOW and 4645 CX05 EOY have both been delivered to Jesmond and should enter service at Durham soon, while Dennis MPD 1764 NK05 GWC and 1797 Y215 BGB are both now back at Darlington which has displaced 1711 V711 DNL to Stockton. Also at Darlington is Alexander Enviro 400H demonstrator SN59 AWW which is being used on the 1/1b, where funding may be given in the future for hybrid buses. DAF SB120 / Wright Cadets 1907 W309 PPT and 1911 W314 PPT have been repainted interurban after being displaced from the 15 by new Pulsars, other Cadets now have the 15 branding removed but retain the red stripe. A large influx of second-hand vehicles to Darlington to replace a variety of step entrance Darts are Dennis Dart SLF’s 1649 R424 COO, 1650 R425 COO, 1651 R426 COO and DAF SB220 / Plaxton Prestige 4034 R434RPY while Ashington now have Alexander Dennis MPD 1761 NK05 GVY. Arriving this week at Jesmond are the first VDL DB300 / Wright Gemini 2’s which are 7616 NK61 EBD and 7617 NK61 EBF and is currently unknown which depot will be receiving them. Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties 7360 R616 MNU has been repainted red.

Newly delivered Optare Solo SR’s for Nexus contracts are  631 NK61 FEU, 632 NK61 FEV, 633 NK61 FEX and 634 NK61 FJO and are in service at Saltmeadows. Scania L94UB/ Wright Solar ‘s 5229 NK55 OLG and 5230 NK55 OLH are in the base livery for new “OK ExpressWay” service OK1 (Darlington-Bishop-Crook) while Dennis MPD 571 NK53 TMV is in full “OK Way” branding for new service 18 (Woodhouse-Bishop-Coundon) and 572 NK53 TMX is in base livery. Dennis SPD 8173 S373 ONL has transferred to Deptford, with Deptford based Mercedes Citaro 5298 NK08 CHC debranded. Dennis MPD’s 548 NA52 AXO and 549 NK53 TKD have transferred to Percy Main and 542 NA52 AXG to Deptford, 507 X507 WRG and 508 X508 WRG have been withdrawn. Completing the four X66 branded Mercedes Citaro G are 5347 BP57 UYK and 5348 BP57 UYL which are both now in service.

Alexander Dennis Enviro 200’s are now beginning to enter service at South Shields with 36461 NK61 EBZ, 36463 NK61 ECC, 36464 NK61 ECD, 36465 NK61 ECE, 36466 NK61 ECF, 36467 NK61 ECJ and 36468 NK61 ECN. Also entering service at South Shields is MAN 18.220 / Alexander Dennis ALX300 22051 NK53 KFV.

A new X34 livery is being introduced with MAN 18.220 / Alexander Dennis ALX300’s starting with 22050 NK53 KFU. Scania N113 / East Lancs 7264 N164 VVO is now out of service after an engine fire. Transferred to the North East from Arriva North West are Scania OmniCitys 2061 CX05 EOV, 2062 CX05 EOW and 2063 CX05 EOY which have been repainted into interurban at Bootle, are now under preparation at Jesmond and are thought to be heading to Durham. The first of Durhams Pulsars are now entering service, with the vehicles currently delivered being 1461 NK61 CXS, 1462 NK61 CXT, 1463 NK61 CXU, 1465 NK61 CXW, 1466 NK61 CXX, 1468 NK61 CXZ, 1469 NK61 CYA and 1473 NK61 CYG. Dennis Dart SLF 1616 S616 KHN has transferred to Darlington.

Dennis MPD 543 NA52 AXH has been repainted yellow, 549 NK53 TKD and 550 NK53 TKE have been repainted lime green for North Tyne, Mercedes Citaro 5295 NK08 CGX is another repainted orange for the Diamond and Dennis Trident / East Lancs Lolyne 3869 W179 SCU is in Northern livery. Further Mercedes Citaro articulated are arriving for services 58 and X66 with the first 54 plate version now here, which is BX54 UCZ.

DAF SB300 / Plaxton Prima 1210 V210 DJR has been repainted into standard livery while 1213 V213 DJR was involved in a fatal accident in Middlesbrough Bus Station so is now out of service which has been temporarily replaced at Darlington by Dennis Dart / Northern Counties Paladin 1628 N474 MUS. A further Dennis Dart / Plaxton Pointer passing through on its journey back to Scotland West is 1513 X481 GGO which was at Durham, while others have also been noted across the North East depots. Delivery has now began on Durham’s VDL SB220 / Wright Pulsars starting with 1461 NK61 CXS, NK61 CXT,  NK61 CXW,  NK61 CXX, NK61 CXZ, NK61 CYA, NK61 CXU, NK61 CYC and NK61 CYE. The final Volvo B7TL / Plaxton Presidents to return from refurbishment are 6020 V220 LGC, 6032 V332LGC  and 6039 V302 LGC which are all Northern red. The seven B7TL’s Dark Blue for the Pronto are 6021 V921 KGF, 6024 V324 LGC, 6034 V334 LGC, 6035 V335 LGC, 6037 V337 LGC, 6040 V304 LGC and 6041 V305 LGC. Deliveries have now commenced of the Mercedes Citaro G with 5341 BL57 OXP, 5342 BP57 UYE, 5343 BP57 UYF, 5344, BP57 UYG and 5345 BP57 UYH and a further unknown five which are currently undergoing refurbishment at Thorntons of Ashington. Also newly delivered is the first Optare Solo SR Hybrid which is 629 NK61 EFY, the second hybrid is also understood to be delivered but the registration is currently unknown. This week has seen many repaints which are Mercedes Citaro 5296 NK08 CGY which has been repainted Orange for the Diamond, Transbus Dennis MPD 573 NK53 TMY has been painted Yellow and received East Durham branding while Dennis Trident / Plaxton President 3885 NK51 UCN, 3887 NK51 UCP, 3888 NK51 UCR and VDL SB120 / Wright Cadet 8267 NK54 NKT are Red with Northern Logos.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council’s

New Village Link services 707 and 708 have now began using Bluebird Tucanas YX59 DYV which is White and YX59 DYW which is branded.

Dennis MPD V732 DNL has been repainted into Red and Cream fleet livery.

VDL SB220 / Plaxton Centros 0002 YJ58 FFB, 0004 YJ58 FFC and an unregistered example and VDL SB120’s 1956 YJ07 JSV and 1957 YJ07 JSY were seen in Jesmond last week, but are thought to have since left to Arriva Bus and Coach (Dealer). DAF SB3000 / Plaxton Prima 1206 V206 DJR has returned to service at Jesmond along with Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties 7364 S648 KJU.

Dennis Trident / Plaxton President 3891 NK51 UCU and Dennis Trident / East Lancs Lolyne 3866 W866 PNL have recieved a new version of the DSDF Seaways livery. Dennis MPDs 535 NA52 AWX , 540 NA52 AXD and 541 NA52 AWF have transferred to Peterlee and painted all over yellow awaiting East Durham vinyls while 536 NA52 AWY, 537 NA52 AWZ, 538 NA52 AXB and 539 NA52 AXC are also at Peterlee but are not yet yellow. These have allowed for the withdrawl of older MPDs 491 V191 ERG, 492 V192 ERG and 493 V193 ERG. Along with exsisting Volvo B10BLE / Wright Renown 5160 T810 CBW, further arrivals from Oxford painted in the new 69/69A blue are 5161 T811 CBW, 5162 T812 CBW, 5163 T813 CBW and 5164 T814 CBW while all Fab Fifty Seven examples have now been branded. Further Volvo B7TL / Plaxton Presidents returning to service are 6034 V334 LGC and 6040 V304 LGC which are both blue for the new Pronto services while further examples entering service at Chester le Street are 6021 V291 KGF and 6037 V337 LGC. Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties 3939 R398 LGH and 3940 R399 LGH have transferred to Stanley which in turn have withdrawn 3929 R288 LGH and 3994 P829 SGP.

DAF DB250 / Alexander ALX400 T312 FGN and T313 FGN have been acquired and are in fleet livery.

Dennis Trident / Alexander ALX 400 V178 MEV, X235 NNO and X236 NNO have been acquired while Volvo Olympian P786 SWC is currently in use, it is currently not known wheather this is an acquasition or loan.

Ex Dublin Bus Volvo Olympian S874 OHN was badly damaged when it collided into a low bridge, it is currently unknown whether it will return.

Tees Valley Coach Travel

Volvo B10M / Plaxton Premiere S13 ORO has been acquired while Dennis Dart SLF V385 JWK has been repainted into fleet livery.

The final NEBPT rally of the year was at Seaburn which also included many vintage cars aswell as the historic and modern buses. Quite possibly the highlight of the event was the appearance of Volvo B10B / Alexander Strider M902 DRG, which made its debut rally. Below are some photos:

The first vehicle in livery for the Pronto is President 6039 V302 LGC which is dark red. Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties Palatine 2 3811 S811 FVK and 3812 S812 FVK have transferred from Saltmeadows to Gateshead which has displaced Volvo Olympian / Northern Counties Palatine 3922 R281 LGH to Winlaton and 3925 R284 LGH to Stanley. Withdrawn is Volvo Olympian / East Lancs Pyoneer 3946 R477 RRA and Dennis SPD 8159 S359 ONL.
